A LOVING  FATHER AND A WONDERFULLY TALENTED MAN
Victor Sgarbi Toreador Opera Singer baritone Lyric London Based
Victor Sgarbi has been singing the role of Escamillo for many years, without ever losing the passion for this character in Bizet's most famous Opera, Carmen.

From his roots in Brazil to becoming a British National, Victor Sgarbi's journey to the opera stage is a story of determination and self-discovery. Originally trained as a dentist and oral maxillofacial surgeon in Brazil, Victor's path took a surprising turn when he decided to pursue his lifelong passion for music.

The transition from dentistry to opera wasn't easy. Victor faced doubts and uncertainties along the way, but his passion for music kept him going. It was this love that fueled his courage to step into the spotlight and pursue a new chapter in his life.

In his performances, Victor's voice resonates with authenticity and emotion. His repertoire spans centuries, from the timeless melodies of Handel and Mozart to the stirring arias of Puccini and the impassioned works of Verdi. Each piece he sings is infused with personal meaning, reflecting his own journey of growth and self-discovery.

Notable among his roles are Belcore in L'Elisir d'Amore, Father in Hansel and Gretel, Sparrow in Maria de Buenos Aires, and more. Through these characters, Victor explores the complexities of human emotion and the universal truths that connect us all.

Victor's performances have taken him to stages around the world, from the intimate theaters of his native Brazil to the grand concert halls of London. Each venue holds its own memories and challenges, but it is the connection with the audience that truly fuels his passion for performance.

Victor's heart lies in making a difference. His journey to Palestine in 2016, where he collaborated with the Choir of London in workshops and concerts, was a profound experience that touched his soul. In the midst of conflict and division, music became a powerful force for unity and healing.

As Victor continues on his musical journey, he remains grateful for the opportunities that have shaped him.

In music, he found his real purpose.
